Insurance Coverage for TMS Therapy

Insurance For TMS

Insurance can be tricky to navigate, but TMS Global is here to help. While we would love to be able to give patients a cost associated with this therapy, every insurance plan is different. A few things to take into account are whether or not your plan has a copay, if you have met your deductible, and if coinsurance may apply. We will gladly make calls to verify your coverage and advocate for you every step of the way. Another important part of insurance coverage is qualifying for treatment.

Patients must meet the following guidelines to qualify for TMS therapy coverage:

  • Diagnosis of severe depression by a board-certified Psychiatrist
  • History of talk therapy AND
  • Failure to achieve relief with various medications and/or antidepressants.

Some insurance companies require multiple trial attempts with various medications, again it just depends on your specific plan. Some insurance companies may require failed augmentation treatment, which is failure of combined antidepressants, or an antidepressant with a mood stabilizer. Don’t let this discourage you. TMS Global Network can help you navigate the approval process as well (if necessary).

Qualifying for TMS

TMS Therapy is FDA-approved for several mental health conditions (such as Depression and OCD) and has become a popular addition (or alternative) to a patient’s treatment regimen. The procedure has a high success rate for many individuals, is non-invasive, and there are little to no side effects. To learn more and to find out if you may qualify, please call TMS Global Network at 502-742-8182. We will assist you in locating a nearby TMS therapy clinic and help you walk through the insurance process. We look forward to the opportunity to work with you.
